INTRODUCTION
The dance of “Salsa” has various versions or regional styles. Among the most known we find New York, Los Angeles, Cuban, Colombian and the style we will work on in this certification: Puerto Rican.
In this certification we will aspire to demystify the different characteristics, the culture, the roots, the origin and the technique of the Puerto Rican style of dance.
We will work with the history of Salsa, with the folkloric dances of Cuba and Puerto Rico, and with the definition of the modern dance.
We will explain in detail the ingredients that make up Puerto Rican Salsa, a very specific and versatile style of dance.
In turn, we will unfold a common vocabulary that will permit us to define the basic movements of Puerto Rican Salsa.
Also, we will cover more vast areas in sequences of steps and partner work, from the most basic to advanced techniques.
